Ethernet / Wifi Communication Mode

This guide explains how to set up communication between your FR2000/FR2500 device and your network using Ethernet (wired) or Wi-Fi (wireless) mode. This ensures your device is connected and ready to sync with the AMG Attendance System.

For Wired Ethernet Connection:

  1. Access the Menu

    • Press the Menu key (6 dots on the bottom right of the home screen) to open the device menu.
    • Navigate to COMM and then select Ethernet.
  2. Enable DHCP (If Applicable)

    • If you don’t have a network administrator or IT support, it’s best to set the device to DHCP. This will automatically assign the device an IP address.
    • To enable DHCP, touch the DHCP option at the bottom of the screen until it reads 'ON'.
  3. Get the Device IP Address

    • Go back to the Menu, then navigate to Comm > Ethernet to view the IP address.
    • Write down this IP address to input into the AMG Client/Server Software.
    • For AMG Web users, use the device’s serial number, usually found on the back under the barcode.

For Wi-Fi Connection:

  1. Access the Menu

    • Press the Menu key (6 dots on the bottom right of the home screen) to open the device menu.
    • Navigate to COMM and then select Wireless Network.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi

    • Set Wi-Fi to 'ON'.
    • The device will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Once it finds your network, press on the network name.
  3. Enter Wi-Fi Password

    • Enter your Wi-Fi password in the prompt.
    • Press Connect to Wi-Fi.
  4. Verify Connection

    • After about a minute, the screen should show 'Connected' next to your network name.
    • Tap the network name to see the IP address.
    • Write down the IP address to enter it into the AMG Client/Server Software.
