Ethernet / Wifi Communication Mode
This guide explains how to set up communication between your FR2000/FR2500 device and your network using Ethernet (wired) or Wi-Fi (wireless) mode. This ensures your device is connected and ready to sync with the AMG Attendance System.
For Wired Ethernet Connection:
Access the Menu
- Press the Menu key (6 dots on the bottom right of the home screen) to open the device menu.
- Navigate to COMM and then select Ethernet.
Enable DHCP (If Applicable)
- If you don’t have a network administrator or IT support, it’s best to set the device to DHCP. This will automatically assign the device an IP address.
- To enable DHCP, touch the DHCP option at the bottom of the screen until it reads 'ON'.
Get the Device IP Address
- Go back to the Menu, then navigate to Comm > Ethernet to view the IP address.
- Write down this IP address to input into the AMG Client/Server Software.
- For AMG Web users, use the device’s serial number, usually found on the back under the barcode.
For Wi-Fi Connection:
Access the Menu
- Press the Menu key (6 dots on the bottom right of the home screen) to open the device menu.
- Navigate to COMM and then select Wireless Network.
