Introduction
If you are unable to access the menu on the AMG 100-C, FR2000 Face Recognition, or BS-922 Portable Fingerprint Device due to an Admin lock, follow the steps below to unlock the device either via the AMG Attendance System (for connected devices) or through the AMG support team (for offline devices).
Step 1: Unlock Devices Connected to the AMG Attendance System
Log into the AMG Attendance System
- Open the AMG Attendance System on your computer or device.
- Navigate to the Devices Tab.
Manage Devices
- In the Devices Tab, go to Badges and select Manage Badges.
Select the Locked Clock
- Use the pull-down menu to select the clock that is locked.
- Press Connect. Once connected, you should see a green "Connected" message and a list of employee badges on the clock.
Locate Admin Badges
- Locate the badges with "Security Level" set to "Admin". These badges correspond to the admin users on the device.
Delete Admin Badges
- Check the box next to the admin badge(s) you wish to remove.
- Select Delete to remove the admin lock from those badges.
Change Security Level
- Highlight the badge you want to edit and select Edit.
- Use the pull-down menu under Security Level to change the security level of the badge to None.
- This will remove the admin privileges associated with that badge.
Optional: Badge Repository
- If you are an AMG Web User, you can also refer to the Badge Repository Tutorial for further management options related to badges. This is available for managing badges remotely.
Step 2: Unlock Devices Not Connected to a Network
- Contact AMG Support
- If the clock is not connected to a network, the admin lock can only be bypassed with a password reset.
- To reset the device, you will need to contact the AMG support team.
- Call the main office and request a password bypass for the device.
- AMG Support Assistance
- The AMG support team will guide you through the process of unlocking the device by providing the necessary credentials or performing the reset remotely.
Step 3: Verify Device Access
Reboot the Device
- After following either the network or password bypass method, reboot the device to ensure the admin lock has been removed.
Test Admin Access
- Try accessing the menu to verify that the lock has been lifted, and you can now manage the device settings.
