AMGtime will be showcasing at HR Tech Conference 2019 in Las Vegas!

AMGtime will be attending HR Tech Conference organized at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 1-3. At booth 1548, AMGtime will showcase time and labor management, scheduling solutions, biometric devices, and mobile apps as well as our latest updates pertaining to recent and upcoming biometric laws. Attendees will be able to see why so many people choose to utilize AMGtime’s attendance and time management solution.

Our latest update brings all users of our web-based service into compliance with the requirements of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and California Consumers Privacy Act (CCPA). As some states have already enacted these laws and others prepare to, AMGtime believes in being one step ahead and preparing for the future. Another recent addition is new features to AMGtime’s Advanced Workforce Scheduling solution which gives the flexibility to schedule an entire workforce. One feature, in particular, is the Daily Scheduler that gives managers the option to drag and drop to adjust to employees’ daily schedules and breaks all on one screen. Industries like Healthcare, Construction, and Convenient Stores will reap the most benefits from these new features as it simplifies the process of scheduling employees in a flexible manner.

With a community of over 10,000 and growing, HR Tech is the largest technology and services exposition in the world. This year’s opening Keynote speaker is real estate mogul, Barbara Corcoran of ABC’s Shark Tank, as she will go into detail about strategies to develop a winning team. In the world’s largest expo of its kind, size of 7 football fields, attendees are able to explore 1,000’s of HR technology solutions as well as the opportunity to network with CEOs, CFOs, and CMOs in the industry. The session packed agenda includes speakers who are industry experts from across the nation in a span of three days. Transform Your HandPunch Into a Wireless & Real-time Device

AMGtime Wireless & Real-time HandPunches

AMGtime recently developed an add-on solution that will transform your standard Schlage HandPunch device into a smart device. Your HandPunch will transform into a wireless and real-time capable device, making workforce management much easier. Anyone can upgrade their device with just a small incremental fee.

This add-on will be a life-saver! Every transaction made by employees will be synchronized and displayed in real-time, allowing the option to view updated time cards as well as regular and overtime hours. Transactions will be collected even if internet connectivity is lost. Once reconnected to the internet, all saved transactions on the device will be transferred to the AMGtime software. None of your data will ever be lost again!

Adding this solution to your HandPunch is quick and easy. This update will connect your HandPunch device to any smartphone, tablet, or computer without the need for additional equipment. If you want to connect to the internet, you simply turn on your HandPunch and press WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) on your router then you are connected.

Another benefit of this feature is the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support. This is ideal for companies (like Staffing Agencies) that need to lend devices to their clients. The Staffing Agency will be able to access the device through any Windows-based computer when connected to an Ethernet port. There is no need to bother clients for their IP address!

For more information regarding this new feature, please contact us at or call us (800)960-3735.

AMGtime has a NEW, rugged device!

AMGtime BS922 Fingerprint Reader for Time and Attendance
AMGtime BS 922

AMGtime has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to new innovations and technology in the time and attendance industry.  Their clients include a variety of industries, as well as various company sizes (anywhere from 2 employees up to 2,000)! So it’s no surprise that they are now catering to industries specifically.

In the construction industry, the big hit seems to be the mobile clock in.  With AMGtime’s advanced, yet easy to use web-based software, administrators can assign a radius to which their employees can clock in/out from, leaving no hardware to invest time or money into.  The problem is, not everyone has a smart phone if they are on a budget.  What if you’re behind, and all you have is a company-given Nokia phone?  What if you don’t have your phone that day, or what if it’s not charged by the time you need to clock out?  How do those employees clock in/out?  What then?  Now you’re back to micromanaging punches, that’s what.  You’re left as the administrator to go into the software and punch their time for them (trusting the time they give you is correct).

They’re outside most of the day, and when a time clock is exposed to the elements, the life of that machine is destined to fail at an early age. With AMGtime’s new device, specifically designed for the rugged outdoors, go ahead, drop your hammer on it; nothing’s going to break it!  Drop it a million times, toss it around, leave it in the sun all day- it doesn’t matter!  With the sun-protecting shield, your fingerprint scanning LED display doesn’t get damaged!  Plus, the genius design of the case is virtually break-proof!  I dropped it from 5’7″ and… nothing.  It was still going strong.  I dropped it pretty hard too; don’t under-estimate these muscles!  This thing is awesome.

Best of all, I love that it’s a portable device, something few companies offer (very few).  The features of this new device include real-time punches (up to the minute, no waiting to view their punch), GPS option, wifi, and my personal favorite, the fact that you don’t have to have internet available for this clock.  It can be a stand-alone device!  There’s even a cool feature option to insert a SIM card, which connects to a satellite, and transfers all your data to your software for you!  A SIM card in your time clock! So cool!  No more worrying about power outages either, because this clock runs on a battery, that lasts for days.  It’s so fresh on the market, I’m sure you have questions about it!  We are always here to help if you have anything you want to ask us, don’t be shy.

This device will be up on the website very soon, so keep a lookout, or pre-order with us over the phone today (if you want, I mean, I’m not trying to be pushy now…).We’re running a special for a limited time, so if you know anyone in the outdoor, construction, landscaping, engineering, etc. industry, be sure to point them in the right direction (you know where)!

There’s an App for that!

cell phone pic

Now all AMG Time customers can clock in or out using their cell phone!  The steps are so easy; all you need to do is download the app, log in, and BOOM!  You instantly have access to all kinds of actions, such as clocking in/out, going on break or returning, and viewing your employee profile.  At AMG we know how precious your phone is to you- we understand you are inseparable.  You check your emails on your phone, post to your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., so why not go ahead and take care of some more business while you’re at it, right?  I mean, why should you have to set your phone down just to do something so simple?  Studies do show that we could get anxiety if we aren’t using our phones.  Let’s avoid the anxiety and stress, and get back to the simple idea of an “ALL-IN-ONE”.

This app is powered by Android, so, sorry Apple users, but you will have to settle for that cool machine we sent you in order to clock in and out.  Enjoy the app on your countdown to Friday!  Hooray for apps!

Head in the Cloud

Cloud computing concept with copy spaceIt may be a world of diminishing returns, but at least the storage space for those returns is expanding endlessly. From floppy disks to memory cards to USB drives, it’s all about smaller devices holding exponentially more data to fit the ever evolving needs of the modern…well, the modern everything and everyone. No matter who you are or what you do, odds are pretty much inescapable that you’re accumulating a personal and professional data bank of at least a few gigabytes. Probably more.

We’re in a world where few modern horror stories are more relatable than that of a corrupted, lost, or beverage-soaked hard drive. With the increasing importance of our data, we’re talking about all the potential loss of a house fire with none of the excitement and barely any sympathy.

Those in the know, after all, have been begging the rest of the public to back up their data for years, whether on USBs or preferably a fully portable back-up hard drive.

But that’s been old hat for a while. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with a physical back-up, but from here on out the Cloud’s where the action is.

It was inevitable, wasn’t it? Everything getting smaller and smaller until hey! Our data is now stored in the air. Or, you know, giant servers in some facility somewhere. But for our purposes, the Cloud is everywhere, and anyplace you can get internet service you can access your Cloud-stored data, from any device, at any time.

It’s just convenient, and services like Dropbox are jumping on the chance to be your one-stop solution for modern information storage. The simple truth of it is that you can lose a physical backup, but the Cloud’s wherever you are, no matter what.

And what with businesses being responsible not just for their own data, but that of their employees, it only makes sense for them to get onboard and ensure they’re using the most convenient and reliable methods possible to keep track of everything from hours to healthcare records.

Hesitance to switching over is to be expected. We like having something to hold onto, and Cloud-based solutions seem intangible. But really, it’s the opposite. There’s nothing to point to, sure, but the data is always there, ready at your fingertips in less than a moment’s notice.

But if you’re still hesitant, incentives can always help. So with that in mind, how do you track employee hours? AMG’s Cloud-Based software will do it automatically, and make the data more accessible than ever before. And with the promo code “freeweb” you can register five employees with the system totally free of charge.

The future of data storage lies in web-based solutions like these, and that’s news to celebrate. In this case, the Cloud doesn’t need a silver lining.

You’re Not a Beautiful and Unique iSnowflake (yet)

isnowflakeThe latest in the never-ending rumors and speculation surrounding the next piece of Apple hardware concerns the way in which we’ll all be unlocking (so that we may proceed to rocking) the iPhone 5s. While the cavalier might prefer the convenience of a quick click and slide—as might the more hopelessly compulsive cell phone checkers—anyone concerned with privacy is familiar with the four-digit code that Apple uses as the standard iPhone security measure.

Now that might be about to change. Take this information with a cinderblock-sized grain of salt, but some analysts are reporting the next iPhone might include a fingerprint scanner as a means of unlocking the device. This could prove a bit of a gamble—if it doesn’t work flawlessly, the feature will prove as an infamous example of Apple choosing flashy promises of simplicity over a less advanced option that actually functions.

The flip side being that an easy to use, effective fingerprint scanner on a phone would be a great (if slightly gimmicky) selling point. Everyone’s got a smartphone, so what better way to personalize the experience than software ensuring you’re the only person in the world capable of accessing yours?

The practicality of that thinking might be somewhat suspect. What if you want someone else to use your phone in an emergency? It’s not like you can just lend them your fingerprint as you could a password, and if the situation is such that you’re not present to disable the scanner, well that’s a problem. Of course, security on a phone will always be a risk/reward assessment. My friend once had her phone returned after it was lost only because the good samaritan who found it was able to call one of her contacts. If she’d had the four-digit password enabled, retrieving it would have proved far more difficult.

The fingerprint scanner would only be more extreme, with access impossible scans the owner’s finger. But no doubt that appeals a great deal to a whole slew of customers, and there might be secondary features enabling the scanner to approve several different users. The other consequence would be the gradual normalization of the fingerprint scanning process, if this proves to be a situation in which Apple dictates the curve. Cars, doors, and yes, the workplace (where the option already exists and has for some time) might very well see fingerprint access become the normal way of going about things.

And if that’s the case, well, who needs all those keys anyway?
