AMGtime will be showcasing at HR Tech Conference 2019 in Las Vegas!

AMGtime will be attending HR Tech Conference organized at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 1-3. At booth 1548, AMGtime will showcase time and labor management, scheduling solutions, biometric devices, and mobile apps as well as our latest updates pertaining to recent and upcoming biometric laws. Attendees will be able to see why so many people choose to utilize AMGtime’s attendance and time management solution.

Our latest update brings all users of our web-based service into compliance with the requirements of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and California Consumers Privacy Act (CCPA). As some states have already enacted these laws and others prepare to, AMGtime believes in being one step ahead and preparing for the future. Another recent addition is new features to AMGtime’s Advanced Workforce Scheduling solution which gives the flexibility to schedule an entire workforce. One feature, in particular, is the Daily Scheduler that gives managers the option to drag and drop to adjust to employees’ daily schedules and breaks all on one screen. Industries like Healthcare, Construction, and Convenient Stores will reap the most benefits from these new features as it simplifies the process of scheduling employees in a flexible manner.

Here’s what we are excited for:

1. Showcasing all things AMGtime!

AMGtime provides several solutions for the healthcare industry. AMGtime’s offerings such as Workforce Scheduling, Job/Department Costing, and more address the common needs of healthcare labor management. Workforce Scheduling includes options to auto-schedule according to set preferences, allow employers to assign skills, training and/or certification for individual jobs, and allow employees to swamp, drop or pickup shifts, just to name a few. Job/department costing allows management to apply different wages for employees that may have different jobs within a shift.

As many of you know, AMGtime has also developed a specialized solution for skilled nursing facilities. The Skilled Nursing Facility module automatically calculates the Nursing Hours Per Patient Day (NHPPD) ratio in real time and generates reports according to PBJ specifications as well as many other relevant reports. We’ve recently updated the module to monitor Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) hours to be in accordance with California’s recent law update.

AMGtime will also be showcased their biometric hardware and mobile apps, both of which pair nicely with the aforementioned solutions. Mobile apps are ideal for on-the-go workers that may need to travel to homes or other facilities. Biometric hardware provides a quick and seamless way for employees to clock in. AMGtime’s booth will exhibit the variety of data capture options available including fingerprint, facial recognition, and proximity cards.

Why the SHRM Conference Matters

shrmSHRM, in addition to sounding kind of hilarious when you say it out loud (do any Shermans out there actually go by Sherm?), also hosts the world’s largest HR conference, which is presently in full swing in Chicago.

This provides an opportunity to ponder the role of HR and of these sorts of gatherings in general. Practically every company has at least someone working in HR, and larger corporations have an entire department. It’s one constant shared by every business, no matter how desparate they may be. And it’s a job that doesn’t radically change depending on where you go. Every company has a different purpose, product, service, philosophy, and culture. But all of them are exactly the same in that they need people to function, and in managing those people, HR professionals are united in their evolving role in the workplace which, no matter where a company’s located or what its size, will be uniform to some extent for the simple fact that people are people, no matter their profession.

And so it is that the SHRM conference is an especially fortunate thing. All of these HR professionals the nation over can gather in one place in order to acknowledge the all-important unity of their work, to hear talks and view products that speak to the cutting edge of the human resources field. There are many conferences like this, expos for certain professions or industries, but this one is special simply because HR is ubiquitous—every company in America could probably send someone to SHRM—but also isolated, in that HR professionals, while crucial, aren’t the main purpose of most of the companies that they’re a part of.

Here HR professionals can gather and, for once, have it be all about them. And what’s nicer than that? Everyone likes to be the center of attention once in a while, and, as HR makes perfectly clear, we’re all people.
